  More Information
You may be surprised to learn that the main source of inspiration for this painting did not start with John Steinbeck’s novel, Of Mice and Men. The whole thing got started when I came across photographs of the Gray Mouse Lemur, Microcebus murinus, that were taken by Manfred Eberle and Meredith A. Barrett. It was only after finding these images, the thought crossed my mind to make it a play on Steinbeck's novel, and once I decided on this theme, I began sketching a skeleton using proportions from my anatomical frame. As a result, this piece has been dubbed my "self portrait", and although this was not my original intention, I can't help but chuckle at the fact that my eventual demise may indeed result in an obsession of soft cuddly things!
